Week 6: Question of the Week

How is your team supporting each other and what is your contribution?

  1. We love to cook/eat so we take an active roll in making sure we always have good food to me the constant 3-4 hour feeding schedules. LaDee and the girls do a great job of planning a menu, grabbing groceries & cleaning up the aftermath of the “cooking show”. They like to Chef if up as well, Maya makes a mean guacamole!

Also, we went techie to provide constant borage raining down in bits & bytes in a group chat. We encourage, remind and praise each other. It's a “Craigslist” of deals being made and bartered for team success.

I contribute by keeping things light (both food and chat), like a Dennis Miller or Rodney Dangerfield of x-fit, especially when I forget to spell check or lol & use RX too much. It’s a humbling life.

  2. Thanks Jamison ;0)! I sure have enjoyed keeping in touch with you guys thru text, email and the blog here. And it makes it so natural to talk to you, my team, as well as everyone else because of this challenge at the gym. You guys make me so proud of all your hard work, with your busy schedules to do the best you can at everything handed to you. Keep up the good work and let's do Team Win The Fit proud come week 10!!!

  3. We definitely have made an effort to not just interact everyday, but also encourage each other through a separate groupme chat. When I'm having a challenging day I encourage others which also seems to spur me on. The accountability is good.

  4. I have found I encourage a lot and make sure through the day I stay in contact w/ my team, so that they are making good food choices and eating on time. Those are all hard to do. Having people there to help you through a bad day or feeling lazy. It is nice to have the support. I find it is easy to give the advice and the instruction but sometimes hard for me to take my own advice.

  5. I'm lucky to have Sara as my captain. She keeps me on track and reminds me daily to make good choices. I'm motivated by how well my team is doing and I'm trying to keep up with all of them. I love getting little messages from them daily.

  6. The encouragement from my team is the best. This has brought us all closer and has challenged us to eat better. My contribution is one of encouragement as well, both at the box and at home.

  7. I think I am considered the "Mean" one? I was excited when I heard about this challenge and wanted to do it immediately! I actually asked a couple people about being my partner and they didn't want to do it...seriously! Charise was one of those but once she understood more about the challenge changed her mind. Now we all text, talk email everyday and the support and accountability for me has been key. I won't let my team down!

  8. I keep in touch with my team either by texting, e-mails or seeing them at the Box. It's been fun getting to know them better as the Challenge has gone on.

  9. We keep in touch through GroupMe every day. While we don't usually go to the Box at the same time, it's been fun getting to know them and helping each other as we have faced different challenges. They are so encouraging and motivational!!! My contribution is just making sure we stay in contact each day and help make sure we're on track to meet our goals.

  10. Before the challenge, I didn't know the ladies on my team very well at all. It's been fun getting to know them better and to support each other via text. I just hope they don't get tired of my daily... "I have to report my numbers so you can hold me accountable"! We even had lunch last week. It was good to get together so we could talk and give each other a boost.

    I love this challenge!

  11. We touch bases and keep track of one another via text every day. We met at the beginning of the challenge and at the half way point. Encouraging words and humor gets us through it all. It is crazy because all 4 of us are in such different chapters in our lives, yet we are are able to empathize with each others struggles. It is so fun to see the results of all of their challenges, struggles and frustration and know that all of the hard works is paying off...TOGETHER :)

  12. This is easy. My team is the BEST!!!! We just have a group text message going to keep each other updated. WOD results, travel plans, breakups, whatever haha! It's really such a blast! The rest of my team usually works out at 6 so sometimes I'll get to train/see them then. It's awesome to have such a good support system and have people to get excited with! Accountability is a great motivator.

  13. Ya, Laura is the MEAN one!! My team is the best, seriously!! With only a couple threatening emails, we have managed to make it this far. Pretty big deal working out 6 days a week, limiting our treats, caffeine and keeping up our water intake. I couldnt have done it without my team. We talk EVERY day, keep each other motivated and plan on a big celebration dinner when this is all over. (I really cant wait until Sunday when I can crack open a Diet Coke!)I will be much less mean then :)

  14. I love the accountability of our team! We text, talk or email each other everyday, usually several times a day. We almost always workout with someone on our team and help encourage each other's success. I am more devoted to our Crosfit box than I ever have been before thanks to this challege!

  15. My team has been incredible. We text throughout the day and share all our ups and downs with each other. They have text me through my 7 minutes of burpees when I have to make up the team WOD, and Sadie even text me every couple minutes when I was struggling through my double unders one night. Without her telling me I could do it, I would have called it a night and put them off till the last day. Its so great having these 3 ladies on my side and rooting for me. They have talked me out of a diet coke all week and been more help than they'll ever really know. Go Lunachicks!

  17. Texting. :) I love all the motivating texts. I love having the team behind me. But whats cool is I am getting motivating texts from a bunch of teams doing the challenge. Thanks CFSV family. :)

  18. I have to say I have the most amazing team anyone could ask for. We are in touch everyday to celebrate success and encourage on a tough day. I love that I can shoot a quick text to find out how they are doing and get them excited that I have found a box to work out in while I am traveling! Thanks to my Barbell Bouncing buddies for all of your encouragement and dedication to our success as a team!

  19. Our team has amazing willpower and dedication. None of us want to let the other one down, so we keep on track even though sometimes the texts are full of four letter words! We text everyday so we know if someone is struggling, and when they are, the texting increases to get them through it. We are never able to workout together, so we have lunch every once in a while to talk. I am amazed that the 3 of them can do so well at all these challenges with so many kids and commitments other than this challenge. When one of us is stressing to get all the team challenge work in, others do extra to help them out. And I must say that we are a good combination!

  20. Of course I love my team. But, I also love all the other teams. I want everyone to succeed. I find myself checking in with everyone via text or at the box. By far, this is the best challenge we've had at the box. Look at the amazing numbers for the first 5 weeks at the box. Wow! Thanks Miki for putting together this fabulous challenge.

  21. I love being on the Mean Girls team! We text, email, and/or talk everyday. We motivate and encourage each other on the team challenges, individual challenges, and even our daily wods. My team is a great support system!

  22. Awesome team, they are always so positive and encouraging and I only hope im doing the same for them, they push me every week to my best I appreciate it and my achy body does as well!!

  23. Sorry everyone, but my team is kick A... We are all working together really well and always find a way to help each other out. No matter what it is, the ladies are willing to help pick up slack if needed, encourage us to do better, send a sweet picture of encouragement and make this fun more than anything. I'm especially grateful for my team this week because I couldn't do anything with my injuries and they lifted ALL of my weight. Having a team is also making it easier for me to make good eating choices and follow the rules!

    Love the diamonds!

  24. I love our Mean Girls! They are fun and motivating, and because they work so hard, they inspire me to work harder. I am definitely the one benefitting from this partnership. However, I do my part by not missing any workouts, and being diligent in keeping up on all the challenges. I like that if someone is not feeling well, (or if they have a funeral to take care of) that everyone on the team is willing to step up and help. It's a great feeling. Having to be accountable to such great girls has been a positive experience. GO MEAN GIRLS!

  25. Most of us see each other at the gym several times a week and we talk about how things are going and ups and downs. We encourage each other and just plain love each other :). We also keep in touch through text.
My contribution hmm...my contribution could be better, but, I try to see the great things that are happening and give encouragement.

  26. My team is awesome! We are constantly in contact and cheering each other on. My team has seriously picked up the slack for me when I was sick and they always have encouraging words. Mel also had awesome shirts made for us! Thanks Mel! My contribution is giving my team all I've got during the week of challenges.
